Scooby Dooby Doo!

Alex wanted a Scooby Doo birthday party this year. It turned out to be so much fun. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I hope the girls did too.

A friend of ours helped us make this mystery machine photo booth.

We even found a Scooby Doo costume.

It wouldn't be a Scooby party without Scooby snacks. I wanted to just buy Scooby snacks but apparently you can't get them here even though I have seen them before but there was none to be found during the time of this party and ordering them on Amazon would have cost me a small fortune so we improvised and I made them dog bone biscuits. Alex came up with the idea of turning little cereal boxes inside out and decorating them for the package. I think they turned out better than the store bought kind....

We split into teams and dressed one person as a villain and then kill them with silly string.

I bought dog dishes and the girls ate their dinners on the floor "doggie style."

Stick popcorn to shaving cream on the shower cap game

First day of school

Abby and Sammy are now in secondary school together. It is so nice. They walk to the bus together and walk home. They are also both in the orchestra and looking forward to playing their violins at the Royal Albert Hall. Very exciting!

Alex is in Year 3. She loves playing the piano and even played a piece she memorized in front of the whole school with only an hour or so notice. She did fantastic. I walked in and was surprised to see her playing the piano with no books. I didn't know anything about it. She is also enjoying swimming (which she has now surpassed both her older sisters in), Lego club, gymnastics and her singing, dancing and acting drama club. She is a busy girl!

Sadie started school as well and can finally join in the conversation between all of her sisters and brag about her friends too. She has many besties at school now. She loves eating lunch at school too and never wants to leave when mum comes to pick her up. ...

Ireland

For my 41st birthday this past September, Charles and I went with another couple to Kerry, Ireland. It was our first trip EVER without children. We were there for four days exploring the Ring of Kerry and all its lovely sights.

Palm trees was not what I expected to see. This was in a garden of some fancy house so it was not natural to Ireland but it sure was beautiful.

We found this rope bridge in the garden. Loved bouncing in the middle freaking each other out. It actually wasn't that high up but was in a gorgeous part of the gardens over a fast running creek.

Two big men on a rope bridge....I was out of there. I was not going to hang out on that thing with those guys...

Ruins of an old fortress

The spectacular cliffs of Kerry

A view of Skellig islands, the bigger island has a 6th century monastery, the smaller Skellig island is closed to the public and is a bird sanctuary. The more I saw them and heard about them, the more fascinating they became. Apparently, it is very difficult to get out to them because of the choppy sea. Star Wars: The Force Awakens was filmed out there in 2015.

We were viewing the spectacular cliffs of Kerry on my birthday and could not have had better weather. It is perfectly sunny, warm and gorgeous that day. So perfect!

old church and monastery right on the shore of the sea

We stayed in a cottage in the Kilarney national park and went for a drive in the canyon. Breath-taking views!

We hiked up and around this waterfall the day after my birthday. It was rainy but the scenery was still lovely.

It was a lovely, relaxing four days away. We had so much good Irish food and enjoyed lots of long chats and good laughs with our friends. If we picked up any luck of the Irish, we will be back again soon...
