Some friends from London informed (taunted, teased, tormented and tortured) me today that they were going to see PATRICK STEWART (my all-time favorite actor) and Ian McKellen in "Waiting for Godot" in London's West End. I love Patrick Stewart or the man you may know as Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek Generations. In fact, the best Christmas I ever had was when Charles "gave me Jean-Luc." We saw Patrick Stewart LIVE in his very own show in the West End performing every character of Charles Dickens' "Christmas Carol." He had the entire thing memorized and went from character to character without a moment's hesitation! Now if you aren't a fan of Star Trek, that's one thing, but you can't tell me that's not talent! Anyway, I think I am going to go into deep depression now. Why must we live in Chicago, a place where Jean-Luc has rarely, if ever performed? I guess I should just start up a collection to get me to London ASAP! Or perhaps I will just take my frustration out on that dang bird that is STILL tapping/pecking at our windows and pooping all over our front step!!! (If you don't know what I am talking about see my post from April 23).

That dang bird! What are you going to do about that thing?
Hey, I feel your frustration. At least you live in Chicago where you have lots of yummy food options, amazing museums, beautiful lakes, shopping, etc. But all the same I'm willing to donate to your Jean Luc fund, seems like a worthy cause.
I hate when people taunt and torment me about things I love.
That is one determined bird...reminds me of my daughter.
By the way...I read the Glass Castle - love it as well. I enjoy checking out your book list since no one here has a decent book club and I can't be bothered to start one.
You know, I saw a play that was largely based on Waiting for Godot, and you might be happy you're missing that one. If it's like the one I saw, it's not a linear story line at all, but rather "modern" and fragmented. But who knows, maybe that's just your cup of tea?
Haven't you shot the bird yet?!
Come out here and we can go to the theatre - I need an excuse to get out. BIG TIME.
