Abby goes to afernoon preschool here in Chicago. Each month the children have a day where they are “snack person.” When you are this special person, you get to sit in a bean bag chair for circle time, you get to bring and help pass out cups, napkins and snacks to the other children and you get to be the first person in line. You also get to bring a "show ‘n tell." This has become an increasingly bigger deal to Abby each month. In fact, she asks me all month long, everytime I take her to school when she is going to be "snack person."
Today she is "snack person" and you would think it was Christmas! She could not sleep last night at all. We never have trouble with her getting out of bed anymore after we tuck her in. But last night, she was too excited. She got out of bed multiple times. The only way I could get her to stay in bed was to have her sleep with Paddington Bear (her "show ‘n tell") and to tell him all about being snack person.
This morning she woke up at 7am. She came in and snuggled with me but could not stop talking and did not go back to sleep like she normally does. She was out of my bed within minutes and getting ready for school. Her school doesn’t start until 12:45. She was frantically trying to find her backpack to put her "show ‘n tell" in as well as all of her snacks. Her frustration that they would not all fit in her backpack finally motivated me to get out of bed. She decided to wear her newest and best dress and was ready for school as of 7:30am. She then kept wondering how she was going to carry her snacks and Paddington in her backpack when they just did not fit. I just gave in and helped her put Paddington into her backpack and then got a “special” bag for her to pack her snacks, napkins, cups and juice in. She is now all set and keeps asking how long until school starts.....four hours and forty-five minutes....

"four hours and forty-five minutes" - that made me bust out laughing. There is nothing in adulthood that matches that level of excitement. Too cute.
If only we could get that excited over little things as adults, huh? The good ole days of the simple life. :) That really is cute.
Oh boy, I did it again... didn't realize I wasn't sign in, Colby was. Sorry. :)
That is sooo funny, and soooo Abby! How fun that she gets so excited (and a little compulsive?). She has such a fun personality, I really miss her, and Sammy too.
