March

The girls still love to dress up whenever they get a chance. Here they all are in their princess attire on a Saturday afternoon playing the game of Life.

Alex as Ana. She is obsessed with FROZEN like every other girl her age.

The girls dressed up for World Book Day. We didn't win any awards this year. We had some "issues" with costumes. Abby was Medusa (we should have gotten a few more snakes for her hair. Also, she refused to put any green make-up on her face), Sammy was the Lorax (and even made a truffala tree to go with her costume; we had some real issues making her mustache - we first tried to do it with feathers but realized she did not like eating them or having them tickle her nose - we opted for foam in the end but all kinds of other issues came up while making it.) and Alex was Wonder Woman (she was supposed to be the Gruffalo's child but her costume didn't come in time, this was our last minute substitute).  Everyone had a lovely day despite all the "issues."

Recently the girls and I did marbling. The girls thought it was "epic!" If you have never done marbling, it's easy. You need to purchase the special marbling ink which is available at most any craft store. Then just put drops of the different colours of ink in a cookie sheet filled with a bit of water (you can swirl the ink with the end of a paint brush if you want). After you have filled the water with ink, lay the paper on top of the water and the paper will soak up the ink. Pull off the paper, let it dry and voila, beautiful designs!

The girls loved this. My whole dining room floor was covered with card stock drying. We now have a nice big pile of marbled paper to make uniquely designed cards etc.

Sammy with some of her designs.

Its pretty fun. I would highly recommend it!

And who sits in her high chair and observes all the action? This little cutie!

She is now 9 months old...

Look at those little teeth and chubby wrist line...love it!

Lovely cardigan from Aunt Susi...

I realize there are a lot of pictures of Sadie, but I can't help it. She is just too cute even when eating a banana...

Here we all are on Mother's day. I was spoiled with cards, the biggest omelette I have ever seen for my breakfast in bed, and a Turkish Kofta with homemade flat bread made by Charles for dinner. How did I get so lucky?
