Fancy Dress Debut

Almost everyday at our house, we have a fashion show and a dance party. Abby and Sam love dressing up in their beautiful dresses and parading around the house. In fact, the minute Abby gets her dress on now, Sammy is immediately pointing to the cupboard where hers is kept. She then makes these cute little excited, happy noises as I pull it over her head. They usually have a bit of a fashion show where they walk the circle around our house (i.e. through the living room to the hall, on to the kitchen, through their bedroom and back to the living room). I see this as the catwalk. Then it is on to the dance party. They love to dance to the "Hokey Cokey" (British version of the "Hokey Pokey"), the "Mulberry Bush" and "Funky Town."

Sammy squealing with delight.

Adding a few accessories...

I had to add this picture. This is Abby in the middle of saying "cheese." She is holding the flower arrangement that she made at school. Her school took the kids to the local florist where they all got to pick out their own flowers and make their own arrangement. I thought it was such a clever idea. Abby was very proud of hers.

Abby is also starting to pick up little bits from her teachers and classmates at school. This past week she has been saying "I cawn't Mamma, I cawn't." ("can't" but with the "caw" or "ah" sound). Also, they have been talking about fruits and vegetables at school. So lately she has been a bit confused about the word "tomato." She is not sure whether it is "tom-ay-to" the American way or "tom-ah-to" the British way. It is funny to hear her be a little hesitant and then just use both.

So cute! Salem picked up the tomato thing. So did I. And I tend to say process the british way.
This makes me wish even MORE Salem had a sister to dance around with. Oh well. They look too cute! The "lap" in the house is very important. If there isn't a natural one, they will create it I think.

Hey, Sam's dress looks familiar... where are the horns? ha! They both look so cute in their dresses, and I love Abby's bouquet. She's got talent!
